HOW TO KNIT THE BEAR PAWS STITCH

The bear paw stitch it's the latest one I've knitted and I love it so much. I am going to use it in a baby cardogan or a shawl, once I'll find the right yarn for it. At the moment I am in Romania visiting my family, so it's a bit hard to find yarn that I'm familiar with, but as soon as I do, i will share it with you.
I have a video tutorial here on how to knit this stitch, also I will write down all the instructions down below.

For symmetry, you want to cast on and knit on a multiple of 23, +edge stitches. A pattern repeat its 14 rows and it makes a paw or claw.
  • Row 1: knit the edge, *K2, P4, K1, P4, K1, P4, K1, P4, K2 *, repeat from *to*, knit the edge;
  • Row 2,4,6,8,10,12,14: work all stitches in the matter that they present and purl the increased stitches;
  • Row 3: knit the edge: *K1, TO, K1, P2, P3TOG, K1, P4, K1, P4, K1, P2TOG, P2, K1, YO, K1*, repeat from *to*, knit the edge;
  • Row 5: knit the edge, *K2, YO, K1, P3, K1, P2, P2TOG, K1, P2TOG, P2, K1, P3, K1, YO, K2*, repeat from *to*, knit the edge;
  • Row 7: knit the edge, *K3, YO, K1, P1, P2TOG, K1, P3, K1, P3, K1, P2TOG, P1, K1, YO, K3*, repeat from *to*, knit the edge;
  • Row 9: knit the edge, *K4, YO, K1, P2, K1, P1, P2TOG, K1, P2TOG, P1, K1, P2, K1, YO, K4*, repeat from *to*, knit the edge;
  • Row 11: knit the edge, *K5, YO, K1, P2TOG, K1, P2, K1, P2, K1, P2TOG, K1, P2TOG, K1, YO, K5*, repeat from *to*, knit the edge;
  • Row 13: knit the edge, *K6, YO, K1, P1, K1, P2TOG, K1, P2TOG, K1, P1, K1, YO, K6*, repeat from *to*, knit the edge.
 You want to repeat the 14 rows as many times as you want for the project you choose.
Have fun!
